MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Police investigated a suspicious package reported in Manhattan Friday morning.

Authorities were called to the area near West 39th Street and Seventh Avenue, about a block from Bryant Park and a few blocks from Times Square, just after 8 a.m., according to the NYPD. Police deemed the package not a threat just before 10 a.m. It wasn’t immediately clear what the suspicious package was.

The city’s Emergency Management Department warned of traffic delays and road closures due to police activity in the area. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
