UPPER EAST SIDE (PIX11) – The New York State Health Department is investigating Yorkville Endoscopy, the clinic that where the late Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest during a surgical procedure.

A spokesman would not discuss details, but did confirm that the health department is investigating.

The Upper East Side clinic is described on its website as being “dedicated to providing high-quality, cost-effective, efficient, and comprehensive outpatient healthcare for adults.”

Rivers, 81, was apparently undergoing a procedure to repair her vocal chords when she stopped breathing and was rushed to Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital.  Rivers died on Thursday, her daughter announced.
