EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan — A man is dead after a shooting in the East Village Saturday night, authorities said.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call for a man shot on East 12th Street. Upon arriving, the man was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his upper left leg. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and a police investigation is ongoing. The identity of the deceased has yet to be released, pending proper family notification.
