COMMACK, N.Y. (PIX11) — A woman died and her two brothers were injured when a minivan plowed into them while they were jogging on Long Island Thursday morning, authorities said.

Ilona Kaydanov, 22, Dennis Kaydanov, 20, and Joseph Kaydanov, 13, were struck by a Chrysler Voyager near Harned Road and Donna Court in Commack at around 8:20 a.m., officials said.

Ilona Kaydanov died at the hospital and her younger brothers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver, Francis Floyd, and her two passengers were not injured, police said.

Floyd’s car was impounded for safety reasons. No charges have been filed against the driver.

Lubov Kaydanov, the grandmother of the siblings, said her grandchildren go on runs together each day.

“Beautiful. She did ballroom dancing. She played violin. She sang. She was a very good musician,” Lubov Kaydanov said of Ilona Kaydanov.

Residents of Harned Road told PIX11 News they are not surprised the crash happened.

“They are flying by here every day,” said neighbor Joe Pollari. “She’s not the only who’s died here by the way. There’s been others on that turn. I didn’t go to see the actual site, but I know there’s been accidents up that way. I know someone died on a motorcycle a few years back.”

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
