STONY BROOK, N.Y. — First it was makeup and hair. Then it was time to do nails.
Then just like any other prom, it was picture time.
The only difference? This prom wasn’t held at a school gymnasium or banquet hall, it was held at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.
“It was so generous of them to do this” said pediatric patient Erin Knox. “It makes up for all the time spent in hospital.”
Knox missed her own prom due to a chronic disease that requires her to get constant treatments at the hospital.
Hair and makeup was provided for free by a local beauty school. The hospital also chimed in with free dresses.
Even fun photo booths were set up to commemorate the night.
