‘Operation Silver Spurs’ on LI brings smiles to assisted living residents

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. — A group of residents at a Levittown assisted-living facility had a fun-filled meet and greet with the Nassau County Police Department’s Mounted Unit on Wednesday. 

The special day was part of the police department’s “Operation Silver Spurs” initiative, which paired important community outreach with mounted police officers and their horses.
