AMITYVILLE, Long Island — One person died after a fire broke out in a home in Amityville Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out about 10:30 a.m. at a home on Jefferson Avenue near Campbell Street, Suffolk County police said.

One person was found dead inside the home, police said.

It’s unclear what caused the fire.
