GARMENT DISTRICT, Manhattan — New Yorkers craving Chick-fil-A waffle fries and chicken sandwiches can finally rejoice in early October, when a new location will open in the Garment District.

This will be the second location, but the first freestanding restaurant in New York City. The restaurant is scheduled to open on Oct. 3 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

NYC’s Chick-fil-A location will partner with regional farmers and suppliers to serve locally grown ingredients. The produce and bread will be grown and made in New York and New Jersey.

Chik-fil-A, a chain based in Atlanta, has more than 1,9000 restaurants in 41 states. The new restaurant will be the largest one in the nation, according to Chick-fil-A. Oscar Fittipaldi, a local resident, will independently own the restaurant at the corner of West 37th Street and 6th Avenue.
