NEW YORK— A National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for parts of northeast New Jersey and New York City Sunday.

The advisory goes into effect until about 3:45 p.m. Sunday for poor drainage areas including Hudson, Eastern Passaic, Union, Bergen and Essex Counties in New Jersey and Queens, Bronx, Richmond, New York, and Kings Counties in New York.

The forecasted heavy rain may cause minor flooding with overflowing drainage areas, and drivers are cautioned to turn around when encountering flooded roads.
