NEW YORK — Emergency maintenance on the George Washington Bridge temporarily caused traffic during the Thursday morning commute.

The emergency work has been completed, but residual delays may occur, according to Port Authority.

During the maintenance, two center lanes on the New Jersey-bound upper level were blocked off as crews perform the emergency maintenance, according to PIX11 traffic reporter Marissa Torres.

The bridge’s upper and lower levels to New Jersey and the lower level to New York were experiencing delays of up to 60 minutes, according to the Port Authority George Washington Bridge Twitter account.
