CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) – We all know about the “Night of the Walking Dead” but it looked more like the “sunny afternoon of the walking dead” in Coney Island Wednesday.
Throngs of zombies flooded Surf Avenue outside MCU Park for the first ever Zombie Night.
The home of the Brooklyn Cyclones hosted the zombie-filled event where fans were encouraged to walk with the dead.
One of the events included a brain-eating contest that did not disappoint.
Sixty pounds of pig brains were prepared for the contest which welcomed nearly a dozen fierce competitors.
Marinated in lemon and garlic then fried, according to one participant, the brains tasted like “soggy calamari.”
When it was all said and done, Molly Schuyler of Bellevue, Nebraska walked away with bragging rights, scarfing down 5 and a half pounds of pig brains in 8 minutes.
