BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn – A woman has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old mother in Brownsville Tuesday.

Joann Beauzier

Police arrested Shenia Williams, 20, on Tuesday and charged her with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Officers responded to a 911 call of a knife attack in front of 531 Bristol St. around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, the NYPD said.

Upon further canvass of the area, police found Joann Beauzier with a stab wound to the chest around the corner in front of 120 Lott Ave.

Beauzier was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The young woman’s 9-month-old son was in a stroller near the attack, police said. He was not injured.

Beauzier lived a few blocks away from the crime scene, where neighbors expressed their shock.

Neighbor Frances Payne was walking with her 9-month-old son Alexander, shared her concerns.

“My kids go to school right there. I live on the block, so its nerve wrecking.”

Beauzier’s best friend was emotional as she spoke to PIX11.

“She didn’t deserve to die like that. She was a good person.”

Beauzier’s brother, Scott Dorvilus, told PIX11’s Mario Diaz that he last saw his sister Monday when he dropped by to see his nephew.

Twenty-four hours later, he is in mourning and calling for justice.

“I just want the people that did this to come to justice, because justice must be served.”
