Two children stabbed, 1 dead, 1 critical in Brooklyn

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A 6-year-old boy is dead and a 7-year-old girl in critical condition after being stabbed in Brooklyn.

UPDATE: Reward offered for arrest in deadly elevator attack on two children

Police say the stabbing happened just before 6 p.m. at a building at 845 Schenck Avenue.

Both children were taken to Brookdale Hospital where the boy was pronounced dead.

Mikayla, 7, is fighting for her life.

The girl, later identified as 7-year-old Mikayla Capers is “fighting for her life” her uncle told PIX11.

Capers uncle, Lamar King says the two were going to get ice cream when they were attacked.

Police said they are looking for a heavyset black man in his 30s.

Around 9:30 p.m., a man was taken into custody fitting that description.

No arrests have been made.
