BUSHWICK, Brooklyn — A New York City Parks Department employee is facing numerous charges, including attempted murder, after allegedly shooting his girlfriend’s ex in a car while a child was also in the vehicle, according to police.
Officials said Bruce Hansley, 46, opened fire on his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend while he was sitting inside a car after some kind of dispute between the two.
The victim’s 8-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, police said. She was thankfully unharmed.
Hansley was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, according to authorities.
Cops said the city employee will now face charges including attempted murder, assault, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and acting in a manner to injure a child.
