GREENPOINT, Brooklyn – Authorities said four people are injured following a massive fire that ripped through multiple buildings in Brooklyn overnight.

Fighting the freezing temperatures, more than 140 firefighters contained the “intense” fire on Diamond Street minutes before 1 a.m. Monday, FDNY said.  The blaze started shortly after 10:40 p.m. Sunday on 49 Diamond St. and later spread to all three floors, and then to two other buildings.

The four victims have minor injuries.

FDNY said the building where the fire originated will likely be torn down, pending an investigation by the city’s department of buildings.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
