BROOKLYN — The body of a man was found floating in the East River between Brooklyn and Manhattan late Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.

Around 10:30 p.m. the NYPD’s Harbor Unit responded to a 911 call for a person seen in the waters of the East River, just off the edge of Brooklyn’s Water Street.

Officials said the crew recovered an unconscious man from the water and brought him to Pier 5 in Brooklyn.

EMS responded and pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
