Half buried, decomposing body found in Brooklyn backyard, police say

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn – Officials are investigating a decomposing body found in a Brooklyn backyard.

On Oct. 6, officers arrived at a residence on Himrod Street in Bushwick where they a discovered a man in the backyard of the house unconscious and unresponsive, said police.

The victim was last seen Sept.22, police sources said. He was reported missing by a friend Friday.

Cops went to 54 Himrod, the victim’s new address, where he’d started working as a super.

His body was found partially decomposed in a black bag and buried in a shallow grave in the backyard, police sources said.

EMS arrived and pronounced the 41-year-old man dead at the scene.

There is no obvious trauma to the body, police said.

The former super of the building is being investigated as a person of interest, police sources said.

Video obtained by detectives shows someone pushing a cart with a black bag in it on Sept. 27.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
