SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn — A Brooklyn man was charged with manslaughter after police say he shot his friend in the head while showing him his gun Saturday night.

Police responded to a call of a male shot in an apartment at 867 45 St. in Sunset Park around 8 p.m.

When police arrived, they found Zdzislaw Golabek, 37, with a gunshot wound to his head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Maciej Gorecki, 32, was charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

The Daily News reports Gorecki was showing off his pistol when he pointed the gun to his friend’s head. Gorecki allegedly thought the gun was unloaded, so he pulled the trigger.

Gorecki was awaiting arraignment Sunday.
