The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. inside a private residence in the vicinity of DeKalb and Wilson avenues, police said.

Police sources said the suspect apparently entered the 29-year-old victim’s home after finding a hidden key and unlocking the apartment door. Awakened by the sounds of the door opening, the woman saw the unknown man with a silver firearm, police said.  He then asked the victim, “Do you want me to rape you or kill you?” before he tied her up, according to sources.

The armed assailant proceeded to rape her and steal some of her personal items before running away, police said.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police said the suspect appears to be about 34 years old, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing around 195 pounds. They released a sketch and a surveillance photo of the suspect.
