CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn — A 16-year-old boy was killed and another two teens were hospitalized after a shooting in Cypress Hills on Sunday evening, officials said.
The FDNY rushed to Vermont Street near a park, after a 911 call for help around 6:40 p.m., a spokesperson said.
Two teen victims were rushed to two different hospitals, officials said. One, a 17-year-old boy, was shot in leg. The other victim, 18, was shot in the head. He was critically injured.
The 16-year-old victim was killed by a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Mayor Bill de Blasio called the teen’s death “heartbreaking.”
“His life was just beginning,” de Blasio tweeted. “Sending my thoughts and prayers to the families of these boys. No parent should ever have to bury a child.”
Officials have not yet released any additional identifying information on the victims.
The NYPD said they’re looking for an SUV from which it appears someone popped out of the sunroof and began shooting.
No arrests have been made.
A 32-year-old man was also killed Sunday by gunshot wounds to his chest and face in Flatbush.
