NEW YORK — An 11-year-old Brooklyn girl was killed when the SUV she was inside collided with a state police car and overturned, officials said Thursday.

Police tried to stop the 2017 Dodge Journey on Tuesday in Ulster for a vehicle and traffic violation, officials said. Tristan Goods, the 39-year-old driver, allegedly fled the scene.

Police pursed the SUV until the vehicles crashed into each other near mile marker 93.6.

The driver suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Monica Goods, the 11-year-old passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
