Video of ICE officer in the Bronx with what appears to be a rifle concerns immigration activists

SOUTH BRONX — Video obtained by PIX11 News shows an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in the Bronx armed with what appears to be a rifle in the middle of the street following what sources say was a raid inside of an apartment building.

This comes as the Trump administration has ramped up immigration enforcement in New York City, according to city officials.

An ICE spokesperson confirmed to PIX 11 News that there was an enforcement action in the Bronx area for a criminal arrest warrant.The individual in the video is part of an ERO Special Response Team who would be used for these types of warrants.

The video shows the officer near the intersection of East 139th Street and Willis Avenue in the Bronx.

An ICE spokesperson said they can’t reveal details about the enforcement action because the individual they were looking for was not taken into custody
