TREMONT, the Bronx (PIX11)– A tractor-trailer struck and killed a 20-year-old pedestrian crossing a Bronx street Thursday evening, according to police.

The incident happened on the intersection of Webster Avenue and East 174  Street around 8:20 p.m., police say.

Kenny Valette, 20, was trying to cross Webster Avenue when a tractor-trailer exiting the east bound Cross Bound Expressway exit ramp of Webster Avenue made a right turn and hit him, according to the NYPD.

EMS responded  to the location and was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained on the scene.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
