THE BRONX — Nine people were arrested for allegedly selling cocaine at a gentlemen’s club in the Bronx, officials said Thursday.
Sin City Cabaret, a gentlemen’s club located at 2520 Park Avenue in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, was the scene of nearly two dozen cocaine purchases by undercover officers since December 2014.
The sales took place inside or right outside the club and totaled $22,000, police say.
Officials say those involved included dancers and bouncers who worked at the club.
Rosanna DeBrooks, Claudia de la Rosa, Blair Padilla, Jasmine Edmonds and Joeana McCarthy were dancers at the club and are charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Bouncers at the club, Isaac Flores, Charles Percell and Janae Ellis, along with Pamela Contreras, were charged with providing the narcotics.
The arrests began on June 21 when Contreras was arrested as police say she was attempting to sell 200 grams of cocaine to an undercover officer for $11,500.
Officials add that de la Rosa was also arrested that same day at the apartment she shared with Contreras.
The suspects allegedly sold individual doses of cocaine, sometimes inside a capsule or bag or rolled in a dollar bill, for $100, officials said. In total, undercover officers purchased cocaine from them nearly two dozen times.
Both De la Rosa and Contreras were arraigned on June 22. Bail was set at $75,000 and $150,000 respectively.
Flores and Ellis have been released on bail set at $35,000 and $3,500 respectively. Percell, who was in federal custody on an unrelated case at the time of his arrest, is being held without bail.
DeBrooks and Edmonds are currently being held on bail set at $75,000 and $7,500 respectively. McCarthy was released on her own recognizance.
