Bronx apartment fire burns man to death

MT. HOPE, Bronx – Authorities discovered a dead man with burns all over his body following a fire at a Bronx apartment Thursday evening.

The blaze at 1758 Weeks Ave. was reported just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

After extinguishing the fire, FDNY personnel discovered an unidentified man unconscious and unresponsive with burns on his body.

EMS responded at the scene and took the victim to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Medical Examiner’s Officer will determine the cause of death.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
