TETERBORO (PIX11) – Pop star Justin Bieber was detained at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey Friday after a strong odor of marijuana was detected, according to officials.

After detecting an odor they suspected was marijuana, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers searched the plane at the airport.

Bieber and the other occupants of the plane were questioned, but it’s not clear if any drugs were found in the search.

Fresh off of a court appearance in Toronto, The Biebs flew down from Canada in his private jet to attend the Super Bowl with friends.

On Wednesday, the ‘Boyfriend’ singer was charged with criminal assault in connection with the alleged beating of a limousine driver.
