NEW YORK (PIX11) – Beyonce’s sister Solange allegedly unleashed a savage attack on Jay Z in an elevator inside the Standard Hotel, and the wild fight was captured by surveillance cameras, according to TMZ.

The incident apparently happened last week after a Met Gala party at the High Line hot spot.

Video shows two people, identified by the site as Jay and Solange, following Beyonce into the elevator.  Once inside, Solange suddenly swings wildly at at Jay-Z, who tries to catch her wrists.  A second man, possibly a bodyguard, grabs Solange from behind and tries to restrain her as she wildly kicks and punches.

Jay Z, dressed in a white tuxedo jacket with dark slacks and a dark bow tie, fends off the blows — at one point catching Solange by the ankle as she tries to kick him.

Video from outside of the Standard shows Solange looking visibly angry walking out first, followed by Jay Z and Beyonce.

It is still unclear what may have sparked the attack.

The Standard Hotel issued the following statement:

“We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”
