NEW YORK (PIX11) — Straphangers, this is for you. Normal service has been restored after
Saturday’s derailment.

It happened around 9 a.m.; the last car of a southbound train lost a wheel and came off the tracks near West 81st Street–Museum of Natural History.

Luckily, nobody was hurt. But, passengers were stranded for a while,  and had to be moved from one train to another.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority is trying to figure out if a broken rail caused the accident.
