In this footage just pulled from a May 1977 Action News program, WPIX legend Chuck McCann visits with Channel 11 film critic Jeffrey Lyons to discuss his 1960s kid-show heyday at the station, as well as his new Norman Lear show at the time, “All That Glitters,” which was shown on Channel 11.

Check out footage of anchors Steve Bosh and Pat Harper in this time capsule of the early days of WPIX’s branding as 11 Alive.

Notice how McCann keeps ribbing Lyons, presumably over the station’s new “Alive” campaign.

“It’s Alive!” he keeps saying. Harper, you’ll see, is amused.

Pat Harper gets a kick out of the Chuck McCann interview.
