Internet wants to ‘Free Jeremy Meeks’ after police post felon’s ‘sexy’ mugshot

STOCKTON, Calif. (PIX11) — When police in Stockton, Calif., posted the mugshot of Jeremy Meeks on their Facebook page, they probably had no idea the internet would erupt , starting a campaign to free the “sexy felon.”

Meeks, 30, was arrested in a guns sweep Wednesday. Soon after his mugshot was posted, women — and men — began commenting on Meeks’ striking good looks.

“Definitely easy on the eyes…,” one woman wrote.

Another said she would drink his bath water.

“He can mug me anytime,” one man said of Meeks, who allegedly has six prior felonies.

Meeks’ photo has over 36,000 likes and has been shared thousands of times as well.

The hysteria over Meeks’ gray eyes and chiseled jawline spread to Twitter, with people Photoshopping the man’s face into a Calvin Klein ad and using the hashtag #FreeJeremyMeeks.

Others edited out Meeks’ neck and teardrop face tattoo, which is often symbolic of having killed someone.

Despite the lengthy rap sheet and new weapons charges, Meek has thousands of new admirers.

Meeks is being held at  San Joaquin County Jail on $900,000 bail.
