It’s one of those moments that’s hard to believe if it wasn’t captured on camera — a buzzer-beater half court shot to squash any amazing shot that has come before it.

On Sunday the New Rochelle High School team faced off against Mt. Vernon in the Double A Sectional Championship.

The game came down to this play, with 2 point 9 seconds remaining and New Rochelle down by a bucket.

Senior Khalil Edney inbounded the ball. His pass was stolen but before the clock expired, another interception. That’s when Edney swooped in and threw up a prayer that went in and gave them a 61-60 win.

It was a moment these players will not soon forget, as the team now prepares to move ahead in the playoffs.
