We’re getting our first glimpse at Louisville’s sophomore guard Kevin Ware following his gruesome leg injury during Sunday’s NCAA game against Duke.

A bedside hospital photo of Ware holding the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship trophy, was shared via the player’s Twitter account.

It was taken after doctor’s successfully repaired the shocking open fracture of his right tibia during the first half of the game.

He’s expected to remain in Indianapolis until at least Tuesday. When the injury took place, both spectators and Ware’s teammates were visibly shaken up by what they saw and heard.

“The bone’s 6 inches out of his leg and all he’s yelling is, ‘Win the game, win the game,’” Louisville head coach Rick Pitino told reporters Sunday. “I’ve not seen that in my life.”

Louisville ultimately won over Duke, 85-63.

Still no word on how long it will take for Ware’s leg to heal.
