WARWICK, N.Y. — Grief counselors will be on hand at Goshen High School Wednesday after two 16-year-old students were killed and two others were hurt when their driver’s ed car collided with a truck at a rural New York intersection.

Police said the crash happened Tuesday at County Route 1A and Union Corners Road, an intersection notorious for collisions, when the driver’s ed vehicle was broadsided by a tractor-trailer which appears to have had the right of way.

The crash killed Antonio Baglivo and Paul Vandoran, both 16, according to the Goshen Central School District. One of the deceased teens died at the scene, while the other was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Two other students who were in the car — Claudia Krebs and Lucas O’Connor — were severely injured and remained hospitalized Wednesday, the school district said.

All four students attended Goshen High School, where their classmates and teachers have access starting noon Wednesday to grief counselors. Those services will be available in the school’s new gym. For more information and counseling services’ phone numbers, click here.

The teens were driving under the supervision of an instructor from Decat Driving School Inc.

The driver of the tractor-trailer and the students’ driving instructor were taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition, officials said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
