Brooklyn business owner fatally struck by company vehicle while chasing car thief: NYPD

SOUTH SLOPE, Brooklyn – Police are search for a man who carjacked a business owner, pulled him from his vehicle and ran him over with his car Monday morning.

It happened at Fourth Avenue and 22nd Street in Brooklyn just after 9 a.m.

Police say the culprit jumped into a company truck that was left running in front of A&D Iron Works and drove off. The store owner, a 63-year-old man saw it happen and chased after the man in his own truck.

When they both stopped at the stoplight, the victim got out and was suddenly struck by the car thief in the company vehicle.

The store owner was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made. A description of the carjacker was not immediately available.
