This story is bound to make you grin a little. This poor little pup is all smiles in the arms of a firefighter after being rescued from his burning home.

The Baltimore County Fire Department in Maryland responded to a fire that started in an apartment building in Parkville.

After quickly containing the flames, firefighter and EMT Walter Sanders carried the dog out of the home to safety.

The pup’s relief is written all over his face. He was given water and seemed to be doing just fine.

Luckily, Captain Geoffrey Donahue was on hand to capture a few photos of the moment and posted the pictures to the Providence Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page: proof that gratitude for those who save lives comes in all shapes, sizes and breeds.
