Death of woman, 61, in Pomonok, Queens deemed a homicide: police

POMONOK, Queens — The death of a 61-year-old woman found earlier this week in a Queens home has been deemed a homicide, police said Wednesday.

Huizhen Zhan has been identified as the woman found dead, lying face up on a bed in the basement apartment of a home at 158-10 65th Ave. in the Pomonok neighborhood,  police said.

Responding officers located Zhan after someone reported on Monday that someone may be dead inside the residence.

Zhan’s death has been ruled a homicide, according to police.

Additional details were not provided, and no arrests have been made.
