NEW YORK (PIX11) – Dairy Queen’s delicious ice cream is coming to Manhattan.

A spokesperson for the fast food chain told Grub Street that the company plans on opening its first Manhattan location, likely in Times Square, by late November or early December of 2014.

The company’s CEO John Gainor had announced last year he planned on bringing “three or four” Dairy Queens to New York City by the end of 2012, but Hurricane Sandy made those plans go awry.

Dairy Queen’s famous blizzard treats made their way to Staten Island earlier  this year, with the first New York City location opening at the St. George Terminal of the Staten Island Ferry.

Correction: An earlier version of this article stated the proposed Dairy Queen would be New York City’s first.
