JAMAICA, Queens – Crashed cars with no license plates are taking over the streets and sidewalks of a Queens community where residents reached out to PIX11 News for help cleaning up their neighborhood.

It’s hard enough for residents to find parking spots along 147th Place in Jamaica, Queens, and now they’re battling for space with busted cars making the streets and sidewalks look like a junkyard.

When PIX11 News arrived at the scene Wednesday, we spotted 11 plate-less cars parked on the city street and sidewalk. Many were dented; one was missing a front fender.

We were tipped off by Joe Moretti, a community watchdog who chronicles his neighborhood in the blog Cleanup Jamaica Queens Now.

It appears the cars are being on by auto body shop Dynamic Collision. When asked why the cars are taking up parking spaces needed by residents, a manager told PIX11 News he would clear the streets and sidewalks immediately. Our cameras will be back to check on the progress.
