QUEENS — The shocking images of body bags at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens are like nothing President Donald Trump has ever before seen in this country, he said Sunday.

At Elmhurst Hospital, 13 people succumbed to coronavirus in one day.

“I’ve been watching that for the last week on television,” he said. ”Body bags all over, in hallways. I’ve been watching them bring in trailer trucks — freezer trucks, they’re freezer trucks, because they can’t handle the bodies, there are so many of them.”

He said he’s only seen things like this on television before.

“This is essentially in my community, in Queens, Queens, New York,” he said. “I’ve seen things that I’ve never seen before.”

Queens has more cases of coronavirus than any other borough in New York City.

There are more than 30,000 cases of COVID-19 in the city.
