SAN DIEGO — After six weeks working at New York’s Harlem Hospital during the peak of the city’s COVID-19 crisis, “dancing nurse” Ana Wilkinson has returned home to California.

It was an emotional reunion as the San Diego nurse and mom was greeted with tight embraces from her husband and two young sons, who she left behind to come help across the country.

Upon arrival home, Wilkinson recounted her heroic and life-changing experience helping New York City through one of our darkest times.

We first met Wilkinson earlier in May as she finished up her final shift at Harlem Hospital and reflected on her time in New York with PIX11’s Dan Mannarino.
