NEW YORK — A 17-year NYPD veteran is the latest member of the force to die from COVID-19.
Officer Eric Murry, who began his career as a traffic enforcement agent before becoming a police officer, died Thursday according to NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea.
Murray worked in the 25th precinct.
“His loved ones are in our prayers,” added Shea.

Over 7,000 New Yorkers have died from the coronavirus. At least 18 NYPD members have died from the virus as of Thursday.
