Gang of robbers targeting Asians in Queens: NYPD

JAMAICA, Queens (PIX11) — Police are looking for a group of robbers who may be behind a series of attacks on Asian people.

Police believe two to four attackers are responsible for five violent robberies in Jamaica, Queens.

One of the suspects was caught on surveillance video.

In each incident, the group approaches an unsuspecting Asian person, punches the victim, takes their property — including phones, credit cards and cash — and runs away.

The first attack happened shortly before 9 p.m. on April 10 near near 126th Street and Liberty Avenue.

The group has been linked to at least four other robberies at these times and locations:

  • 5 a.m. April 19 in front of 125-04 Liberty Ave.
  • 5:20 a.m. p.m. April 21 near Liberty Avenue and 125th Street
  • 10:45 p.m. April 30 in front of 104-09 126th St.
  • 12:20 a.m. May 15 near Rockaway Boulevard and 113th Street
