NEW YORK (PIX11) — Multiple people were injured after a bus jumped a curb and crashed into an apartment building in Harlem Friday morning.
Councilman Mark Levine told PIX11 an out of service northbound M5 bus lost control after colliding with a minivan and jumped the curb at 155th Street and Broadway in Hamilton Heights.
No passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the collision.
Pedestrians were on the sidewalk when the crash happened.
Three people who were trapped inside the building have been rescued and were treated at the scene.
Five of the injured were taken to St. Luke’s and Harlem Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
