BROOKLYN (PIX11) —  If you aren’t crossing every New York street in the crosswalk, be prepared to get slapped with a ticket.

Some cops in Brooklyn who were directing commuters to use the crosswalk, handed out mock jaywalking tickets as a warning.

The white-colored handouts were passed out in Bay Ridge giving jaywalkers a chance to correct their wrong before getting hit with the real summons.

The fake tickets were handed out to everyone and not just those seen crossing against the light.

The mock ticket explained the pedestrian failed to exercise due care while crossing a roadway and ordered commuters to “appear at the nearest intersection and cross in a crosswalk.”
