‘Anchorman 2’ trailer released — Ron Burgundy coming to 1980s New York City

Ron Burgundy, played by Will Ferrell and his news team have left San Diego for 1980s New York City in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” whose trailer was released Wednesday.

Nearly 10 years after the first “Anchorman” film, the trailer features the former Channel 4 News Team crew, which also includes Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Champ Kind (David Koechner) and Brian Fontana (Paul Rudd) getting used to life in the Big Apple and working for a global, 24-hour news outlet.

“I’m gonna do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this Earth to do, ” Burgundy says in the trailer. “Have a salon-quality hair and read the news.”

Meagan Goode and Kristen Wiig play possible love interests for  Burgundy and Tamland, respectively.  Actor James Marsden will emerge as Burgundy’s anchor rival.

“Anchorman: The Legend Continues” will be released on Dec. 20, 2013.
