BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — An 89-year-old man has died after his home caught fire Sunday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the house on Bridgewater Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. The fire was extinguished within the hour.

The body of the victim, who has not been identified, was found inside the home. Officials say he died from smoke inhalation.

No one else was inside at the time of the fire. No other injuries were reported.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious, officials say, but arson investigators are on the scene.
