BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN (PIX11) — A 79-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning, according to police.

Police found James Jackson lying unconscious with a gunshot wound to the neck after being called to his residence at 1091 Gates Ave. in Brooklyn by his common-law wife.

His wife, who is both deaf and blind, went looking for him inside their home after she didn’t feel him next to her in bed, according to one of Jackson’s sons.

She found him slumped on the floor, and initially thought he was covered in spilled soda.

Paramedics took Jackson to Woodhull Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  No weapon

No arrests have been made, a police investigation is ongoing.
