UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Penn. — Pennsylvania State Police have safely located a 7-week-old boy who was abducted from a food court Thursday night in Upper Merion Township.

Ahsir Simmons was found around 10:30 p.m., about ten minutes away from the mall he was reported missing from.

An Amber Alert was activated when Simmons was allegedly grabbed from his stroller by an unknown woman at the King of Prussia Plaza Mall.

At a press conference Thursday night, police said the suspect befriended the infant’s family. She then spent 30 minutes with them in the mall’s food court.

Police say the mother gave the suspect permission to hold Simmons while she took a phone call.

The woman then walked away with Ahsir in her arms.

A surveillance photo shows the woman walking out of the mall, holding the infant.

The woman is currently in police custody. No charges have been filed at this time.
