SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn — Kevin Cuzco’s says he was unjustly physically assaulted by NYPD officers Saturday night after they responded to call at his family’s restaurant in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn.

After the beating, “they put four staples in my head, that’s one injury,” Cuzco told PIX11 News. The 18-year-old says he was hit in the head and suffered injuries on his ear and his lip.

According to Cuzco, the ordeal started when police were called to his family’s restaurant, El Tesoro Equitoriano Saturday night to break up a fight between customers. Cuzco claims he witnessed an officer kicking one of the arrested men.

“I said ‘don’t touch him,’ I said ‘that’s not right’ and then an uninformed cop came, pushed me,” he described.

On surveillance video it appears several officers proceed to hit Kuzco before he is taken away in handcuffs.

The NYPD says the case is under internal review.
