FAR ROCKAWAY, Queens — A driver was arrested Tuesday in connection with the hit-and-run of an 11-year-old boy on a bicycle who was struck head-on and sent flying, police said.

The crash happened at about 7:20 p.m. on Monday.

Police said the victim was riding his bike south on Dickens Street, near Healy Street, when the driver of a black, four-door sedan traveling north on Dickens Street hit him head, police said.

The child went airborne upon collision, police said. He was thrown and landed on the street several car lengths from the initial spot of impact.

The 11-year-old was taken to a hospital.

Police found the vehicle involved Tuesday and arrested Agostinho Sinclair, 41, of Queens, authorities said.

He faces charges of aggravated unlicensed operator, reckless endangerment and leaving the scene.
